Calsoft Systems was started in 1994 by Nem & Yoko Bajra. As a software developer for another company in Torrance, CA.
Nem developed one of the first security systems for use with a PC (personal computer) when PC’s were still in the early stage in the eighties.
As the security software became popular worldwide, the company which Nem worked for underwent a corporate takeover.
Change in the corporate structure and the rigidity of the new company triggered Nem's steps in forging his own business.
Together with Yoko, Nem started Calsoft Systems with the hope to provide affordable software for small to midsize businesses using his
15 years software development experience. The first opportunity arose with a local tour company. Nem and Yoko studied the tour industry
and became familiar with the ins and outs of running a tour guide business. Working closely with the company's end users, Nem designed
an easy to use system to create and execute tours. Today, companies such as JTB International, Inc. are still part of Calsoft Systems' growing clientele.
The following years at Calsoft followed much of the software industries trends with growth during the boom and the struggles as the bubble popped.
However, the Bajras persevered and looked for ways to successfully manage their business. Based on Jim Collins’ book, “Good to Great”,
Nem began to focus internally and built a strong team of management, unified by a dream of successfully building the business to the next level.
And inspired by Dr Kazuo Inamori’s philosophy on business management, the Bajras defined the objectives of Calsoft Systems as (a) Helping
clientsă»business grow through information technology, (b) Seeking professional and financial growth for all employees, and (c) Serving the society.
